iOrchestra is an amazing opportunity to step inside an extraordinary orchestra. Last year 45,000 people took up that opportunity in Plymouth, Torbay and Cornwall. This year, we are returning to each of those locations, with a new immersive digital installation, creative projects for all ages and abilities, an updated version of the iOrchestra truck and a fresh programme of live concerts.
In the iOrchestra Tent you will find Universe of Sound – a deconstructed digital orchestra, in which 103 musicians from the Philharmonia, and Principal Conductor Esa-Pekka Salanon will take you on a journey through Gustav Holst’s The Planets from the inside out.
In the iOrchestra Truck you will find MusicLab, a mobile pop-up play and create experience which allows you to step into the shoes of a conductor, a composer, a cellist, a percussionist and more and gives you the chance to learn about the orchestra and participate in making music with the players themselves.
Through a programme of Live Concerts we are bringing the full Philharmonia Orchestra to Plymouth, Torquay and Truro, building on the success of community concerts in year one. We will also be bringing players from the Orchestra to perform iOrchestra Schools Concerts in each location.
Before, during, and after each of these events, we will be creating opportunities for composing, performing, dancing, animating, exploring and inhabiting the world of orchestral music. To find a project to be part of, explore the creative projects listed in the calendar.

Who is the Philharmonia Orchestra?
You may not have heard of the Philharmonia Orchestra but you may well have heard us. We're often on the radio, and are the musicians playing the soundtracks to films such as Thor: The Dark World and Hercules, and video games such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We're also one of the busiest orchestras in the UK, performing more than 160 concerts a year in our home base in London, throughout the UK and around the world. We've loved meeting you through iOrchestra 2014, and we hope to meet new friends over the next year of this amazing music project.
